All of us at the coffee club have cast our vote for Mitt Romney; all except one and we know who that is. So that makes us 99% for Mitt!
Also discussed was my comment on how a person who gets a Nobel peace prize (Obama) for doing nothing really, and has a KILL list for drone strikes? How we have lost our minds!
The desert is cooling down now too! Brads been flying up a storm so things are really starting to get nice out here again. Finally, the summer is behind us.
I saw a great bumper sticker the other day "NoBama", I want one...

List of the quakes and magnitudes...
over 200 earthquakes since Sunday at 10 AM
OK... well this has been an excited 24 or so hours with over 200 earth quakes as you can see from the picture above. I felt at least 5 of them, rollers I would call them. But Westmoreland, Calipatria, Nilands, Salton City, and Brawley got hit. Brawley being the worst of it. I talked to a physicist friend today who lives at the Salton Sea too, he said the last time anything like this ever happened was in 1970 outside Mexico City... over 200 quakes and a farmers corn field turned into a volcano! So, ring side seat here to see what happens next.!!! Get your bug out bags ready and don't park the cars in the garage!

Why I'm still voting democratic!
For a fair an balanced approach at the North Shore College of Knowledge, and especially for Dennis when he reads this blog I have included the reasons why I will vote on as a dem this year... here they are..
1. I voted Democrat because I love the fact that I can now marry whatever
I want. I've decided to marry my German Shepherd.
2. I voted Democrat because I believe oil companies' profits of 4% on a
gallon of gas are obscene, but the government taxing the same gallon of
gas at 15% isn't.
3. I voted Democrat because I believe the government will do a better job
of spending the money I earn than I would.
4. I voted Democrat because Freedom of Speech is fine as long as nobody
is offended by it.
5. I voted Democrat because I'm way too irresponsible to own a gun, and
I know that my local police are all I need to protect me from murderers
and thieves.
6. I voted Democrat because I believe that people who can't tell us if
it will rain on Friday can tell us that the polar ice caps will melt
away in ten years if I don't start driving a Prius.
7. I voted Democrat because I'm not concerned about millions of babies
being aborted so long as we keep all death row inmates alive.
8. I voted Democrat because I think illegal aliens have a right to free
health care, education, and Social Security benefits, and we should take
away the social security from those who paid into it.
9. I voted Democrat because I believe that businesses should not be
allowed to make profits for themselves. They need to break even and give
the rest away to the government for redistribution as the Democrats see fit.
10. I voted Democrat because I believe liberal judges need to rewrite the
Constitution every few days to suit some fringe kooks who would never
get their agendas past the voters.
11. I voted Democrat because I think that it's better to pay billions for their oil
to people who hate us, but not drill our own because it
might upset some endangered beetle, gopher or fish.
12. I deleted this one as it was offensive to me and didn't address the redistribution of wealth... bad people.. the rich need to pay their fair share of taxes too... I might remind those dirty bastards who got rich off the sweat of the poor ... Go Obama!

Man robbed outside bank branch in Baldwin Park
Another case in point. If we outlaw banks altogether then this would not have happened. I feel sorry for the robbers as they were in obvious need of the cash that I'm sure was extracted from a bank account owned by a rich dude. Redistribution of wealth at it's finest hour and I think Obama should help to find the poor gentlemen in the get away car. The victim, if you want to call him that, should have the IRS look into how he made his money and had the ability to get cash out of the bank. What was he going to do with that cash? Why not write a check? Makes one wonder what illegal thing he was planning to do. I wonder if he is married and does his wife know where that money was going? This has almost become a victimless crime as the money, which I'm sure was gotten off the backs of the poor and helpless, is now redistributed to those who really need it. You have to love being a democrat! I will bring this up to the north shore college of knowledge to see what wisdom they can shed on the topic.
Man robbed outside bank branch in Baldwin Park:
Man robbed outside bank branch in Baldwin Park:
BALDWIN PARK -- A man was robbed of an envelope full of cash after leaving a bank Thursday, officials said.
A man had just withdrawn a significant amount of money about 10:15 a.m. from Chase Bank, 14483 East Ramona Boulevard, and was getting into his car in the parking lot when he was approached by a robber, Baldwin Park police Sgt. Mark Harvey said.
As the victim was getting into his car, the suspect reached over the car door and snatched an envelope full of money the victim had placed in his shirt pocket, the sergeant said.
The robber took the money and ran to a nearby car with a waiting driver, which sped away, police said.
Officials described the man who grabbed the money as Latino, 19-20 years old and with light brown hair. He wore a light blue T-shirt and blue jeans.
The driver was described only as wearing thick, black glasses.

Rattlesnake bites 12-year-old camper in Angeles National Forest
OK... nanny state again... we should outlaw rattlesnakes! We can't go outside for they might bite us. We should author a law and put it forward to outlaw rattlesnakes. Especially the ones that can bite on full auto and quick reload. There is no reason to be able to bite more than once so I think they are an evil thing for the general public. Another thought might be to dispose of the individual that got bit as they must be stupid and need the feds help! I hope the little girl is ok... but those snakes... evil...I will present this to the north shore college of knowledge team!
Rattlesnake bites 12-year-old camper in Angeles National Forest:
Rattlesnake bites 12-year-old camper in Angeles National Forest:
ANGELES NATIONAL FOREST -- A 12-year-old girl was taken to a hospital after a snake bit her on the foot Friday, county fire officials said.
Sheriff's Lt. Tonya Edwards said the minor was at a camp and it was reported as a rattlesnake bite.
Michael Pittman, supervising dispatcher with the Los Angeles County Fire Department, said firefighters were called to the incident at Angeles Crest Highway and Sulfur Springs Road about 6 p.m.
He said the girl was flown by helicopter to a hospital.
FBI: 'Plain Jane Bandit' serial bank robbery suspect in custody
Now case in point. I think we should outlaw walk in banks. This would stop the senseless discrimination against "Plain Jane Women"! How dare they go after the poor women who don't look like a Hollywood starlet or the like. This is just despicable and I think the authorities should be reprimanded for harassing Plain Jane women! More of the war against women! I think the white house should get involved with this case, personally like they do all raciest or attacks against the poor. Obviously this woman was poor or she wouldn't have been drive to such measures and as we all know the white house favors redistribution of wealth so in fact this woman should be a metal from Obama! She is our modern day Plain Jane Robbin Hood!
FBI: 'Plain Jane Bandit' serial bank robbery suspect in custody:
FBI: 'Plain Jane Bandit' serial bank robbery suspect in custody:
DOWNEY -- A Downey woman was in custody Friday on suspicion of being the "Plain Jane Bandit," linked to eight Southern California bank robberies in recent weeks, including ones in Whittier and Santa Fe Springs.
Sylvia Helen Garcia, 38, was arrested Thursday evening and was in the custody of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department as authorities were determining whether she would face state or federal charges, according to FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller and county booking records.
A tip generated by media coverage of the serial bank robbery spree led to her identification and arrest near Downey, Eimiller added.
Garcia is accused of six bank robberies and two failed bank robberies since mid-July, authorities said.
The first robbery linked to the bandit took place July 12 at a Santa Fe Springs U.S. Bank branch, 13372 E. Telegraph Road, according to the FBI. She then hit the U.S. Bank at 13525 Whittier Blvd. in Whittier on July 19.
The Plain Jane Bandit, who earned her moniker because of her "plain" appearance as described by witnesses, went on to carry out robberies and robbery attempts at banks in Buena Park, Cerritos, Moreno Valley and Wildomar, investigators said.
During the robberies, the bandit used notes demanding money and indicated she had an accomplice waiting outside, though none was ever seen.

Colorado Shooting
As the nanny state continues and everyone is jumping on the gun ban stuff... I got thinking that we might not be thinking about this right. Instead of going against the 2nd amendment which allows the citizens to bear arms to protect ourselves from the government gone crazy (sounds like we are almost there), I think we should ban any place where lots of targets can gather. Therefore there would be no mass anything to get shot at. That means no malls (the Internet would love that) to go to. This could be really good on many levels. Less traffic accidents and thus we save lives there. No more high rise buildings with thousands of workers (could have stopped 9-11 altogether). Also it will save natural resources like gas and such because people wouldn't be driving to work or to shop... home delivery would flourish and that would help the job situation... the telecommunications company will like this because we need more high speed Internet and bandwidth. Also flourishing and hiring would be website building companies (like me). Grocery stores can save on electricity as no one will go to the store but rather have delivery and again more efficient use of fuel plus the hiring and the purchase of delivery vans (GMC will like this). Oh, no GMC we should purchase vans from Europe as they are more Green then outs (we can outsource that one and still look like a global player). We can have our Cal Trans do other stuff then maintaining the roads as it will be mostly delivery vehicles. Maybe they can fill the pot holes now? Just guessing here or put in some more No Right On Red lights to get more revenue for the state. They can export this idea to other states who need to increase their income to help offset their necessary spending. I'm sure we can find even more great reasons to move in this direction if we just put our heads together... I'll ask the guys this week (north shore college of knowledge) to see what else we can think of. Please feel free to send your thoughts to us via this blog...

Just a quick note!
I got a job!
Well, its a job that is really been fun. My computer died and I took it to the same place that I had Dick take his... anyway after many weeks of working on it and talking with the owner, he hired me to help with the shop. So I got a great chance to learn the hardware side of computers and what the industry does to clean up computers; software that is. So I been dragging old computers from North Shore to work on and such. I also started doing websites for them as an added product that they can sell. So been having fun learning and make a few dollars!
Politics
We have been watching the insane things Obama has been saying and hoping that Mit gets his stuff together. We say yesterday that Obama claims he has not increased the national debt at all that it's all Georges fault. Does anyone buy that? Look, Bush after 8 years had a 308 Billion debt that Obama took over and his is 1.3 trillion in just 3 years compared to Bush's 8 years. And some people buy this absolute lie. Amazing.
Fishing
The fishing is insane these days. I was over and the state park on Saturday and the parking lot was completely full. There was wall to wall fisherman; at least 150 people!
Just a quick note to all.. stay cool and be good!

Update on the racing boat accident
SAN DIEGO (AP) — An American yacht destroyed while racing from California
to Mexico ended up on the rocky shore of an island just past the border,
according to a website that tracks boats by GPS, potentially undercutting
the theory that it was crushed by a large ship.
Coast Guard investigators have not recovered the GPS device but will
consider the coordinates as they try to determine what caused the crash of
the 37-foot Aegean that killed three sailors and left one missing, agency
spokesman Lt. Bill Burwell said Tuesday.
Investigators are also scrutinizing the sailboat's debris, interviewing
race participants and seeking records of any large ships in the area,
Burwell said.
The GPS tracking information shows the boat landed on Mexico's Coronado
Islands at 1:36 a.m. PDT Saturday at a speed of about 6 knots. The
coordinates were the last posted by the ship a day after it left from
Newport Beach, where the 124-mile race to Ensenada, Mexico, began.
The maker of the device was Spot LLC, a unit of Globalstar Inc. Its
palm-sized gadgets track movements of sailors and other outdoor
enthusiasts.
Michael Patton, a spokesman for the yacht owner's family, noted the
tracking shows the GPS device landed on the rocks but not necessarily the
boat. He dismissed the theory that the boat hit rocks because debris found
just offshore was too small. "Look at the destruction of it all," Patton said. "You're talking about it
being squished."
Eric Lamb, who found the wreckage Saturday while on safety patrol, said
debris strewn over 2 square miles looked as if the boat had "gone through a
blender," with some of it a quarter-mile from the shore.
The San Diego County medical examiner said Kevin Eric Rudolph, 53, of
Manhattan Beach and William Reed Johnson Jr., 57 (Col Johnson), of Torrance, both died
from blunt force injuries. Rudolph's injuries were to his head and neck.
Joseph Lester Stewart, 64, of Bradenton, Fla., drowned, but head injuries
contributed to his death. The boat's skipper, Theo Mavromatis, 49, remains
missing.
The coroner's report listed all three deaths as accidents but did not say
what could have caused the wreck.
Troy Sears, an experienced sailor who owns the San Diego-based charter
company Next Level Sailing, said the GPS chart "gives an important clue if
not verification of what happened to the vessel."
"It looked like they plotted a course for Ensenada and North Coronado
Island was directly in the way."
Sears, who visited the part of the island where the GPS tracking ended,
said it was unlikely that the device fell off the boat because the chart
shows a steady speed and straight course.
"That section of North Coronado Island is near vertical and it would be
like hitting a wall. There's no beach to stop or slow a vessel, so a vessel
would make contact with a near-vertical wall," he said.
The deaths were the race's first fatalities in its 65 years and came two
weeks after five sailors were killed in the waters off Northern California
when their 38-foot yacht was hit by powerful waves and ran aground on a
rocky island.
By ocean racing standards, the number of casualties in the two races is
startling. Previous major ocean racing disasters have been caused by freak
storms, including the one that killed 15 sailors in the Irish Sea in the
1979 Fastnet Race and one that killed six in the 1998 Sydney to Hobart
Race.
Gary Jobson, president of the U.S. Sailing Association, said the group
would look at the GPS coordinates as part of its investigation.
GPS devices are increasingly popular among sailors, said Jobson, who
attaches one to the rail of his boat.
Mavromatis was a sailor his entire life and did not appear to have ever
faced scrutiny about safety, Conrad Thieme, manager of Marina Sailing, a
company that rented the boat on his behalf.
Mavromatis twice won the Newport-to-Ensenada race in his category and also
placed second and third, said Patton, the family spokesman. The Greek
immigrant told friends that he once tried out for the Greek Olympic sailing
team.
Patton was supposed to be the fifth crew member but canceled when his
mother was hospitalized with symptoms of heart trouble in Illinois. Her
health scare did not turn out to be serious.
"I feel lucky, but it's not like I'm going to go out and buy a lottery
ticket," he said. "I'm not the story."

LOS
ANGELES - The body of the skipper of a yacht apparently smashed to
pieces by a ship off the Coronado Islands remained missing today, as the
families of all four men aboard wondered how the accident could have
happened.
A
spokesman for Newport Ocean Sailing Association, which puts on the
annual Newport to Ensenada race, said the wreckage of the 37-foot Aegean
dropped off the race's boat-tracking system about 1:30 a.m. Saturday,
and the debris field found when the sun rose later the same day
suggested it was hit by a much larger vessel.
Sailors
who knew skipper Theo Mavromatis, 49, of Redondo Beach, said he was
conscientious, safety oriented and had his Hunter 376 outfitted with
"all the bells and whistles," including radar, which is a
collision-avoidance tool.
Winds
were light at the time, and if only one person were on deck, he may
have had trouble starting the boat's auxiliary engine and getting out of
the way in time.
On
Saturday afternoon, the bodies of Joseph Lester Stewart, 64, of
Bradenton, Fla. and 57-year-old William Reed Johnson Jr. of Torrance
were recovered, along with the body another crew mate whose name was
unavailable early today.
Monday morning,
Leslie Rudolph of Manhattan Beach, the wife of 53-year-old Kevin Rudolph confirmed that he was the third sailor killed.
The
ship that struck the fiberglass sloop has not been identified. Some of
the first rescuers on scene were able to identify a debris field as that
of the Aegean, because its transom, emblazoned with its name, was still
afloat.
The yacht was one of 213 sailboats in the roughly 125-mile race, which started about noon Friday. Most boats finished Saturday.

The U.S. Coast Guard suspended its search Sunday afternoon.
"It's
never easy to make the decision to suspend a search and rescue case,"
said Capt. Sean Mahoney, the commander of the agency's San Diego sector.
"The Coast Guard extends its sympathies to the families and friends of
the Aegean crew. They will be in our thoughts and prayers."
The fatalities were first in the 65 years that the Newport to Ensenada race has been run, race organizers said.
Rich
Roberts of the Newport Ocean Sailing Association, which puts on the
race, said the collision occurred just south of border near the Coronado
Islands, a group of four islands about 8 miles off the Baja California
coast.

lanes used by commercial and military ships headed to and from the
ports of San Diego and Ensenada, and maritime investigators will attempt
to identify the ship involved. The captain of ship hundreds of times as
big as the Aegean might have been unaware of the collision.
The
deaths marked the second yachting disaster this spring. On April 14 off
San Francisco, five lives were lost when a yacht in a race around the
Farallon Islands was disabled by a breaking wave and washed onto a rocky
shore. That prompted the Coast Guard to suspend offshore sailboat
racing in Northern California.

Dogs and cats plus a fire ball
Dogs and cats
We had a great discussion on the riverside county mandatory micro-chip program and how it might now be instituted. Turns out all dogs and cats need to have a microchip placed under their skin. We learned that state wide it costs 300 million to dispose of animals picked up by the officers. Animals need to be licensed etc and those not are picked up. Fees start for the pickup and build from there to include a microchip. Many animals, I guess, are put down if the own refuses to pay the fees. I did make some suggestions on how the state might actually save that 300 million fee but no one thought they would do it.
Fishing
The fish are biting at the Salton Sea! The other night I was out on the beach and you could hear many schools of talapia up on the surface. There were thousands of them! When they get spooked the all dive under the surface making such a racket of noise, like thousands of fish splashing all at once. It was very impressive.
Big Fire Ball
When I was out on the beach later at night there was a large explosion and fire ball at the Salton Sea State Park. I did call it in and that was a real experience to talk to 911 then the sheriffs department. The fire department at north shore, who said all we have to do is call 911 and ask to talk to them, well, I can tell you that isn't true. The sheriff on the phone could but I couldn't. Anyway instead of them heading to the state park they showed up at my house looking for the fire ball. I was asked three times how did I know it was a fire ball! Really, so I told them as a kid my parents used to roast chestnuts on an open fire, so I actually have seen fire in my life and this was yellow, red and a big ball that raised up into the air. Really... Tax payer dollars at work. Anyway, I got them pointed back to the state park when I noticed that one of the engines head lights were out. I told them wow, that is really dangerous and they should keep their equipment in better shape. I just hope the other headlight doesn't go out..
Jeff Frost
I met this young talented man when I was security guarding out on the beach last Nov and we became friends. He comes out to the desert to make movies and I didn't really understand what they were or how talented he really is. He and his girl friend Stephanie stayed the night and I got to see the film. Here is a link to his site so you can see what a fantastic thing it is.. http://www.jeff-frost.com. Make sure to go full screen and if your internet can handle it go HD and you can see the
meteors.

He has his 40th wedding anniversary tomorrow so I took he and his wife a bottle of white wine up for the celebration. I can't even imagine being married for that long and I think it is really wonderful to see such a commitment. Days gone by I'm sure but would love to see such a role model catch on for others. Congratulations!
